Nalbari, Assam – From starting with just ₹50 as a student to building a globally recognized platform, Upasana Sarma, also known as Upasana Queen Sarma, has carved her name as one of Assam’s youngest and most self-made female entrepreneurs. As the Founder and CEO of U.S Art Gallery, she has created a space for artists worldwide, providing them with opportunities to showcase their talents, gain certifications, and connect with a global audience.
A Journey of Perseverance and Passion
Born on December 14, 1999, in Nalbari, Assam, Upasana Sarma defied societal expectations to chase her dreams. Despite facing immense mental pressure and societal skepticism, she pursued her passion for art and entrepreneurship, proving that “Risk takers are the history makers.”
Upasana completed her Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati (2021) and later obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Krishna Kanta State Open University (2022). She also completed various internships with AEGCL, ASTC, and MSME Tool Room and Training Centre.
From Engineer to Entrepreneur: The Birth of U.S Art Gallery
While completing her final semester, Upasana worked as a Trainee Engineer at Indian Oil Corporation Limited and later as an ISP Engineer at Bharti Airtel. However, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to leave her corporate career and focus entirely on U.S Art Gallery, which she founded in 2021 at the age of 21.
Today, U.S Art Gallery operates globally with participation from 17 countries and artists from almost every Indian state. The organization has established itself as a leader in promoting Indian art forms through certification courses, exhibitions, and collaborations. In 2024, she expanded her venture by launching a clothing brand under the U.S Art Gallery, focusing on Indian art-based designs.
