The Story Behind Joshital
Joshital’s journey began with Rupali Joshi’s longing for home-cooked Pahadi food. Having moved from Nainital and Haldwani to Bangalore, she realized that authentic Uttarakhand cuisine was almost impossible to find in the city. On one of her visits home, she stocked up on rare Pahadi spices like Jambu, Gandraini, and Bhangeera, determined to recreate the dishes she grew up with.
When she shared her home-cooked meals with friends and family, their overwhelming response made her realize something bigger—there was a community of people who missed these flavors too. That’s when Joshital was born, with a mission to bring authentic, homemade, and preservative-free Pahadi dishes to Bangalore.

Despite being an assistant professor at T. John College of Pharmacy and a Ph.D. scholar, Rupali Joshi dedicated herself to reviving her native cuisine. Together with Niranjan Joshi, she transformed Joshital from a small home kitchen into a fast-growing cloud kitchen, offering home delivery and online orders across Bangalore.
