Writer Dr.C.Ganesh gets applause for presenting Tribal girls story in festival of letters, literature fest conducted by Sahitya academy on 8th of March here at Rabeendra bhavan, New Delhi. He presented a story of a girl named Theni aged 27 who has a great wish to ride a JCB.Her wish is so metaphorically presented in the story.

Dr. C. Ganesh captured the limelight by telling the story of the girl’s survival during the afternoon storytelling session held at the Kaveri Sabhagar venue of the Literature festival organized by the Kendra Sahitya Akademi from March 7 to 12, 2025. Apart from Dr. C. Ganesh, Manikuntala Bhattacharya presented short stories from Assamese, Nandini Sen from English, and Jafa Gonsalves from Konkani.

Moderator Dr. Jhansi James said that all the stories presented in the session were socially relevant and imaginative. The moderator also said that the stories presented here are an example of the excellent literature being created in the regional languages ​​of India. She said that the literary exchanges between regional languages ​​will help in the growth of literature and culture.

C . Ganesh presented a story that highlights the misery of the tribals even today. The story said that if they want to enter the mainstream, they need to fight a big fight and that there needs to be significant changes in the public’s perspective. The English translation of C. Ganesh’s short story, published two years ago in Bhashaposhini, a leading literary magazine in Malayalam, was presented. While he and Nandini Sen presented it in English, Manikunthala and Jaffa presented in Hindi.

Amrita K, an alumnus of Thunchathezhuthachchan Malayalam University in Malappuram, has translated the story of C Ganesh, titled as The JCB girl.Dr. C. Ganesh later told reporters that he was submitting this story for publication in the Sahitya Akademi magazine.
